Thermal Camera Module Solutions

Flexible, Embedded, and Customizable Thermal Camera Modules

Thermal Camera Module

IADIY provides thermal camera modules, also referred to as thermal imaging modules, designed for OEM integration and industrial applications. The product line covers multiple output interfaces and integration levels, enabling system designers to select the most suitable module based on host capability, system architecture, and application requirements.

The thermal camera module portfolio is organized into multiple series based on output interface, host processing requirements, and functional capability. This structured series design helps OEM customers and system integrators quickly choose the right module—from simple thermal visualization to deep SoC integration and accurate temperature measurement.

  • Minimal Host Processing Series (CVBS): For systems that need thermal visualization with minimal host processing.
  • On-the-Go Module Series (USB 2.0): For fast integration and portable thermal imaging.
  • Temperature Measurement–Focused Series (Radiometric): For systems that require accurate temperature measurement, not just thermal images.

A unified product code table and naming rule is applied across all thermal camera modules to simplify product identification, selection, and procurement.

Thermal Camera Module Solutions

IADIY provides compact, scalable, and integration-ready thermal camera modules designed to deliver reliable performance across space-constrained systems, from simple video output to full radiometric thermal data. Across our product series, we offer a clear upgrade path—from plug-and-play modules to data-rich radiometric solutions—enabling faster integration, predictable performance, and long-term system flexibility.

Interface

The interface is the first and most important selection decision. It determines system complexity, data availability, processing requirements, and overall integration effort.

CVBS Series — Minimal System Dependency

  • Outputs analog thermal video directly to the display system
  • Requires minimal host processing and system resources

UVC Series — Digital Imaging via USB

  • Transfers digital thermal images via standard USB 2.0
  • Enables host-side image access and software-based control

Selection Guide

  • Choose CVBS to minimize system complexity
  • Choose UVC when digital image access is required

Temperature — Radiometric vs Non-Radiometric

Temperature capability defines whether the thermal module provides quantitative temperature information or visual thermal contrast only. This choice determines system data usage, calibration requirements, and overall functional depth.

Radiometric — Temperature Data Enabled

  • Provides calibrated temperature data alongside thermal imagery
  • Enables temperature-based system analysis and logic

Non-Radiometric — Thermal Imaging Only

  • Outputs thermal images showing relative heat differences
  • No temperature calibration or measurement data involved

Selection Guide

  • Choose Non-Radiometric when only thermal visualization is needed
  • Choose Radiometric when temperature data is required for system logic

Sensor (Resolution & FPS)

Sensor specifications define the level of detail captured and how smoothly motion is represented in the thermal image.

Resolution

  • Higher resolution provides greater spatial detail and scene clarity
  • Lower resolution reduces data load and processing requirements

Frame Rate (FPS)

  • Higher frame rates deliver smoother motion and improved responsiveness
  • Lower frame rates reduce bandwidth, power consumption, and system load

Selection Guide

  • Increase resolution to capture more spatial detail within the scene
  • Increase frame rate to improve motion smoothness and responsiveness

FL / FOV (Lens Selection)

Lens selection determines scene coverage and target detail. To support objective lens selection, DRI (Detection, Recognition, Identification) metrics are provided for reference.

Wide Field of View (Short Focal Length)

  • Covers a larger area within the scene
  • Provides lower pixel density on distant objects

Narrow Field of View (Long Focal Length)

  • Covers a smaller area with increased detail
  • Provides higher pixel density at longer distances

Selection Guide

  • Use the DRI table to compare expected target detail across different focal lengths
  • Select the focal length that meets the required detection, recognition, or identification distance

Thermal Camera Module Overview

Thermal Imaging Module & Infrared Camera Module for Accurate Temperature Detection

High Resolution Infrared Thermal Camera Module for Night Vision

A thermal camera module, also known as a thermal imaging module or IR camera module, integrates an infrared sensor with image processing circuits. IADIY offers high-resolution thermal camera modules for accurate temperature detection and clear imaging under extreme conditions. With in-house capabilities in optics, electronics, and embedded systems, we support full-stack development and manufacturing for custom IR camera modules and thermal systems.

How Does a Thermoelectric or Infrared Camera Module Work?

The higher an object's temperature, the more infrared radiation it emits. A thermal imaging camera module detects this radiation, converting it into electrical signals for image processing. Since thermal cameras do not rely on visible light, they perform effectively in total darkness, fog, or smoke—making them invaluable for surveillance, firefighting, autonomous driving, and medical screening.

1. Thermal Imaging Detector / Infrared Sensor

The infrared sensor is the core of any thermal camera module. IADIY offers both uncooled LWIR modules for general environments and cooled MWIR modules for high-performance, long-range detection. These IR sensors are ideal for border security, military targeting, and industrial inspection.

2. Thermal Infrared Imaging Lenses

Our thermal imaging lenses are made from high-transmission chalcogenide glass. These lenses define the field of view, sensitivity, and overall imaging performance of the thermal camera. Custom lens configurations are available to meet specific requirements in spectral range, thermal resolution, and application.

3. ISP + AI SoC Image Processing Circuit

Embedded thermal camera chip solutions integrate AI-based ISP to enhance clarity and recognition. This enables real-time thermal video processing, smart analytics, and faster object detection across industries such as surveillance, health diagnostics, and smart factories.

Infrared & IR Camera Module Applications

IADIY delivers IR camera module, infrared thermal camera modules, and high resolution thermal camera modules for applications including:

  • Night vision and outdoor surveillance
  • Industrial thermal inspections and fire detection
  • Medical thermal imaging and temperature screening
  • Autonomous driving and obstacle detection
  • Smart factory and AI analytics integration
